Klein Kariba

My husband and I went to Klein Karbia for the weekend. What a beautiful place to be. Peace and quit for 2 days! It was fun and I hope to visit again soon.

Endocrine system

I finally got hold of an endocrinologist in Pretoria. The earliest appointment I could get with her is on 3 March, but I think the wait is worthwhile. Here are the details if somebody is also interested: Dr Mary Seeber (012 343 0970)

What is the endocrine system?

The endocrine system is a complex group of glands. Glands are 0rgans that make hormones. These are substances that help to control activities in your body. Different types of hormones control reproduction, metabolism (food burning and waste elimination), and growth and development. Hormones also control the way you respond to your surroundings, and they help to provide the proper amount of energy and nutrition your body needs to function. The glands that make up the endocrine system include the thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, ovaries, testes, adrenal, pituitary and hypothalamus.

What is an endocrinologist?

An endocrinologist is a specially trained doctor. Endocrinologists diagnose diseases that affect your glands. They know how to treat conditions that are often complex and involve many systems within your body. Your primary care doctor refers you to an endocrinologist when you have a problem with your endocrine system.

What do endocrinologists do?

Endocrinologists are trained to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in your system. They take care of many conditions including:

* diabetes

* thyroid diseases
* metabolic disorders
* over or under production of hormones
* menopause
* osteoporosis
* hypertension
* cholesterol (lipid) disorders
* infertility
* lack of growth (short stature)
* cancers of the endocrine glands

Hard work ...

I am tired tired tired! It feels like my life just exists out of work, eat and sleep. However, I do not complain. God is blessing our business and we are very busy!

We have developed the bottling, labeling and wrapping in a fine art between my eldest son, my husband and me. It is physical hard work. We also called in grandpa and grandma to help with the labeling. My youngest son also helps us sometimes after school.

We had a record month in January … our turnover had doubled! I praise the Lord for this blessing!

My youngest in grade 12 ...

Paul is in grade 12 at Technical High School John Vorster. He is very proud of the fact that he is a senior and that this is his last year. Me on the other-hand are sad! My baby is finishing school this year! (sob sob sob).

Israel en Gaza conflict

In the Scriptures, the prophet Zechariah warned the nations about the city of Jerusalem in particular in Zechariah 12:3 -- "On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves."

Dit is presies wat nou gebeur. Met Israel se inval op Gaza om Hamas te vernietig het so te sê die hele wêreld opgestaan teen Israel. Betogings het uitgebreek in Iran, Lebanon, Egipte en ander Moslem lande. Iran is klaar besig om voorbereidings te tref vir 'n inval op Israel .. en so ook Hizbullah.

Die wêreld gaan hulle vasloop teen God:

Zec 12:2 Kyk, Ek maak Jerusalem vir al die volke rondom tot ‘n beker van bedwelming, en ook teen Juda sal dit wees tydens die beleëring teen Jerusalem.
Zec 12:3 En in dié dag maak Ek Jerusalem tot ‘n baie swaar klip vir al die volke: elkeen wat dit optel, sal hom daarmee sekerlik seer maak; en al die nasies van die aarde sal daarteen vergader word.

Israel staan onder God se beskerming!

Zec 12:8 In dié dag sal die HERE die
inwoners van Jerusalem rondom beskut, en die struikelende onder hulle sal in dié dag wees soos Dawid, en die huis van Dawid soos ‘n hemelse wese, soos die Engel van die HERE voor hulle uit.

Zec 12:9 Ook sal Ek in dié dag daarna soek om al die nasies wat teen Jerusalem aankom, te verdelg.

The Gaza and Israel conflict

The conflict situation between Gaza and Israel are very sad! Both the Israelis and Palestinians have a valid argument. (not included Hamas). Hamas is a terrorist organization that uses the people of Gaza as shield. They are cowards. The death of the nearly 600 Palestinians are on their heads ... not on Israel. Hamas is terrorizing Israel for eight years with rockets issued by Iran and send via tunnels through Egypt into Gaza. There they use schools, mosques and hospitals to store the rockets and to fire them.

What must Israel do? Their mission is only to cripple Hamas so they don't have the means and power to fire the rockets again. Unfortunately the people of Gaza are the victims.

It looks like that the people of Gaza love Hamas more than their own children. They voted for Hamas three years ago to rule them and their children. They sent their children to summer camps were the children learn about Hamas and their rockets. They learn that Hamas is right ... that terrorist is rights. The people of Gaza brought this crisis on themselves.

I pray to God to protect the innocent people of Gaza and Israel. I pray for the children, mothers, fathers and the old people. I pray for peace.

20th Wedding Anniversary!

On 24 December 2008 we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary! What a proud moment of us because nobody in our families gave as a change. We still love each other and went through bad times and good times together. We are soul mates and were bind together by our Heavenly Father. We will stand together until death do us part.
